BATIK Sarong – Transformational Heritage Fabric of Asia | Boolariny
Batik is being recognised as one of the heritage textile originated from Indonesia. Java island is the central of Batik mass production in embossed block prints and hand painted ones. This sarong is made of 100% cotton and printed on it with care. Indigoblauwe is the signature indigo dyed blue from the influence of Dutch pottery and ceramic work, even it might be faded on its colouring due to ageing, it would be as ripe as wine bottle.
How to wear: Numbers of easy way tutorial video on Youtube, otherwise if you might have brooch or finger rings it would be so much easier to slide it in from edges both side and knot it on your waist. Easiest way to wrap it around and fold on the top, secure it with bobby pins or safety pins. This fabric is also pretty much fashionable as your scarf or headpiece with little to advanced creativity.
How to care: DO NOT WASH IT WITH DETERGENT. Only hand wash with fabric softener, drying flat avoiding direct sunlight, would be better to stretched it with little weight on each edges to maintain the shape of its fabric. If you want to have a deeper colorant look when its started to fade, tamarind juice on lukewarm water and soak it overnight for an excellent result. If any marks or stains appeared, remove it with damp cloth on pure apple vinegar or botanical soap.
